 About Dr. Bortz

  • Dr. Bortz is a graduate of the combined undergraduate and medical school program at Johns Hopkins Medical School. He studied internal medicine at St. Luke's Hospital in NYC before completing postgraduate training in Ophthalmology at New York Medical College. 
  • Dr. Bortz  then completed an American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship with Dr. Orkan Stasior at Albany Medical College. Albany NY. 
  • Dr. Bortz is board certified in Internal Medicine. Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic Surgery. 
  • Dr. Bortz has served as director of Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery at New York Medical College for 14 years. 
  • Dr. Bortz is Chief of Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery at Westchester Medical Center (Grasslands) Valhalla, NY and at Metropolitan Hospital, NY, NY. He has lectured to and been intimately involved in the training and supervision of many young ophthalmologists in this capacity. Dr. Bortz has performed thousands of eyelid, orbital and facial surgeries.

Office Hours

  • Dr. Bortz is available for consultation on Mondays and Thursdays in the White Plains office and on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Westchester Medical Center. He has privileges at Westchester Medical Center. White Plains Hospital, United Hospital, St. Agnes Hospital and Hudson Valley Medical Center.
